Our Story
It all began in 2001 when our owner and CEO, Elvia Taylor, opened her house to provide English and Spanish classes to adults. She started helping fortune 500 companies, friends, colleagues, and schools – all from her dining room table!
In 2005, Elvia expanded her language learning program and opened Crossing Borders International Preschool & Camps, located in Houston, TX.
Alongside experienced Academic Supervisors, Elvia also created her own material to help parents and teachers teach Spanish.
Today, this material is also used in our preschool and has been an effective language learning tool for the past 10 years!
With 20 years of experience, Crossing Borders is one of the top language learning programs in Houston, TX.
Why Crossing Borders?
- Remote learning from Crossing Borders has been designed with you in mind.
- Our tremendous reputation (testimonies) owes a lot to the quality of our teaching staff and the experts in our management team
- When we say remote classes, we are not referring to videos with cartoons, but actual experienced top-notch preschool teachers that have worked for us in our International Preschool. They are dynamic, come from various backgrounds, have varied experiences behind them and are enthusiastic about cultural diversity. Many of our instructors are certified teachers from their countries or have a CDA (Child Development Associate) which is given to certified preschool teachers that are working in a preschool setting.
- Crossing Borders commits hours of training a year with our teachers to ensure that we continue to provide our students with effective teaching, well-planned, enjoyable and motivating lessons.
- We guarantee we do our best to make it as easy and flexible for you.
- We celebrate special events and milestones along the way.
- We absolutely know how to teach, what works and doesn’t work, engage the kids via a monitor (tablet, phone or computer and specially in person) so trust me when we say “We got this!”
- We focus on the goals you want us to achieve and we target our program’s outcome to achieving them.
- You and your child can bond and have a special relationship with our remote instructor, if necessary.
